Spring in all its glory!
A big thanks to all of you who stopped by to see me at the Venice Book Fair last month. The morning was great but for the first time in the history of the Venice Book Fair: it RAINED! In early afternoon a storm came and sent all the vendors scurrying to their cars loaded down with books. We all look forward to a much less wet, dry season next year!
The exciting news today is that I have been honored to be invited by the Free Thinkers group at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Sarasota to re-create my art installation, “Field of Poetry”! The date is Friday, the 13th of May at 10:00am, 3975 Fruitville Rd. (Yes, Friday the 13th….it is a lucky day for me!) I am humbled to be able to have the ‘Field’ planted in the Memorial Garden along with the myriad of beautiful bromeliads! After strolling through the garden step into the sanctuary to hear the latest version of my “Soul Traveler” presentation. My books and cards will be available, as always. I look forward to seeing you there! Here is the link to the Free Thinkers newsletter. http://www.uucsarasota.com/freethinkers.html
Now, for all those who have been holding your breath with me, you can let it out. We know that Volume II, Dance of Joy of The Wandering Crane series has been in the hands of the Pulitzer Prize committee for almost a year now. They have finally announced the winners of the prize in poetry this week and, alas, my book was not chosen. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
In the meantime, stay in touch! I will soon have an announcement of my next book hitting the book shelves! This one is the long awaited business book. My co-writer, Barbara Kimble and I have retitled it: “Turning Up the Light: Four Steps to Brighter Management”. It is a fun and informative read. But more on that next time. Until then,
